Top Quality Paint a Great Investment

High Quality Paint a Great Investment

Old Village Master Painters recommends using only the highest quality paints and finishes on your home. Although higher quality materials may cost more up-front, your investment will more than pay for itself over time.

Top quality 100% acrylic latex paint offers a variety of performance benefits, whether your home exterior is made of wood, aluminum siding, vinyl siding, or masonry according to The Paint Quality Institute. When applied to a properly treated wood surface, these paints can protect and beautify your home for 10 years or more - typically far longer than less expensive paints. Say a typical exterior paint project requires 40 gallons of paint. A lower quality paint may cost $25/gallon for a total material cost of $1,000. The higher quality materials we recommend may cost $50/gallon for a total material cost of $2,000. The labor for this project is $10,000 so the total cost would be between $11,000 (cheaper paint) and $12,000 (high quality materials). This is a small premium if you consider that you will likely need another $11,000 paint job in only few years if the lesser quality paint is used while the higher quality paint job may still look great up to 10 years later.

High quality 100% acrylic latex paint offers advantages for other services as well.

  • Tougher and more durable than other paints
  • resist staining, and even if they happen to pick up fingerprints and smudges
  • easier to clean with just a little soap and water - that’s something any mother will love.
  • today’s latex paints are largely (or entirely) free of VOC’s ~ no lingering “paint smell.”
  • resist mildew growth and continue to look bright and fresh even when exposed to strong sunlight.

So, there's a lot of paint out there...which is the best?
