Historic and Fine Homes in Chestnut Hill

Chestnut Hill, located in the northwestern corner of Philadelphia, is one of the region's most beautiful and architecturally distinguished communities. Flanked by the spectacular Wissahickon Gorge and Cresheim Valley, Chestnut Hill is home to one of the best collections of 19th and early 20th-century residential buildings in the country.

Old Village Master Painters has had the pleasure to be invited into many of the fine homes, colonial, victorian and historic properties in Chestnut Hill and the surrounding areas of Mt. Airy, Wyndmoor, Lafayette Hill and Germantown. (See some of our work below.) We have a love and appreciation of older homes and offer premium interior and exterior painting and decorating services from professional, master craftsmen, working directly with you - the homeowner - or your architect, custom builder or decorator to take your dreams and ideas and make your house your home.

Georgian Mansion RRP

A classic, large brick Georgian in Chestnut Hill, PA, this home has many of the features popular from the Georgian period: dormers, multi-paned windows, and classical details on the soffits and under several brick arch-ways.

Old Village removed the lead paint from these windows and the intricate dentil detail on the soffits on this mansion in Chestnut Hill

Built circa 1920, this mansion also had many layers of old lead based paint.. Old Village did an RRP (Renovation, Repair, Painting) project to safely remove the old lead paint down to the bare wood - while preserving the intricate details on the exterior of this fine home. We are EPA Certified for Lead Paint Removal.

St Martin's Lane

Chestnut Hill is full of older homes and many of these are covered in lead paint. We did another RRP (Restoration, Repair, Paint) project on this Federal Style Mansion on St Martin's Lane.

This project included removing the lead paint then restoring the beautiful arched palladian windows and shutters facing the inner courtyard. The 1st floor features casements on either side of the main windows and the 2nd floor louvered shutters, all of which had been painted shut for years. Old Village restored these to like new condition.

Victorian Color Match

This gorgeous Chestnut Hill Victorian was an entire repaint. A color consultation was done with the owners using historic pictures of the home in order to restore the original color scheme.
