The front facade is the first impression that visitors and passers-by often get of your home, and the focal point of this impression is usually the entrance. So a great looking door is an essential part of your home making a good impression. Old Village Master Painters has enhanced many fine homes, from new construction to historic restorations, with beautiful finishes for the doors, shutters, and other elements of your home.
Stripped, repaired and repainted ~12 window sashes for original double-hung windows on 110 year old house, stripped repainted and weather stripped 2 doors, and repainted walls and ceilings of three rooms..... We are supremely satisfied!
Many older homes have interior and exterior doors with multiple layers of old paint or varnish. We can remove these old paints and finishes off-site using our proprietary EnveloStrip™ Paint Removal Process.
EnveloStrip™ is a new process that we developed to remove Paint, Varnishes, Lacquer, Shellac and other Finishes from interior, exterior and garage doors. Not Dip-n-Strip, EnveloStrip is environmentally friendly and safe for wood. The work is done off-site at our facility to eliminate any mess at your home. We can easily handle oversize doors and windows, and homes with large numbers of doors and windows as is common in the older homes in Chestnut Hill and the Main Line.
Old Village is also EPA Certified for Removing Lead Paint and has a great deal of experience restoring older doors and windows with lead paint issues.
After removing the old paints and finishes and making any necessary repairs, Old Village can help you choose a finish - a high gloss paint from Fine Paints of Europe, or a custom finish created by the Old Village Design Studio. Our finishes use only the highest quality materials and will enhance the beauty and value of your home for many years to come.
Different colors can brighten an otherwise generic exterior. After removing the old finish we applied a lovely plum color to the front door of this stone Tudor style home in Mt Airy. The plum against the Wissahickon schist looks great.
Old Village did all indoor and exterior painting on the restoration of this gorgeous c1850 Town House near the Rosenbach Museum in Philadelphia. Working with designer Ashli Mizell and Cherokee Construction, we painted the interior doors and window frames in a high gloss black from Fine Paints of Europe and developed a custom finish for the front doors.
