If You can Dream it ~ We can Create It
"...You offered a working relationship that truly served to make us happy with the final finishes. Our refinished mahogany handrail is just beautiful and was not an easy color to achieve! The new coffered ceiling beams in our family room were so artfully painted to look like aged wood that no one can tell the difference. The beams are spectacular. Hutter, Emilie, Ed and team - you are amazing! ..."

Old Village works directly with you - your designer - architect - or custom builder to help create the perfect look for your space.
The Old Village Design Studio™ has developed methods that use low VOC and environmentally friendly materials to create
beautiful reactive stains, like we did on this reclaimed oak flooring in a barn-to-residence conversion in Chester County.
Doors can Make a Statement
The Old Village Design Studio™ can restore your old
weather-beaten door - or - create a special look for a new one. Mary and Emilie are shown here are restoring the doors at The Athenaeum, a National Historic Landmark around the corner from Independence Hall
Stains and Polishes
Dark stains can make stair rails, exposed beams and other wood work stand out. French polish on top of a custom mahogany stain gives a dramatic depth to this stair rail and volute
The Design Studio offers numerous techniques for adding special touches to your home. We finished these cabinets in Fort Washington with a milk paint effect to produce a beautiful aged rust look. If you can dream it ~ we can create it!
There are a myriad of different effects that can be used to make your space unique. This antiqued gold leaf finish was created by The Old Village Design Studio™ for a client looking for a truly unique piece.
Our customer had water damage that ruined a favorite wallpaper. Emilie Stulb Magowan was able to reproduce the pin tuck look of the wallpaper while updating the color and texture. She created a linen texture with plaster and had a custom stencil made to reproduce the design.
